Lie Detector Test Prices
Lie Detector Test Cost
When working directly with a certified examiner, the price of a Lie Detector Test should range between £399 and £499. This cost should cover everything, with no additional fees. Keep in mind that Referral Agencies may charge more, as they act as intermediaries and impose referral fees. It’s always important to request the examiner’s name and have a conversation with them before the test. If they are unable to provide the name, it’s best to walk away as something may be amiss. We prefer personally speaking with all clients before confirming a booking. Recently, we have noticed an increase in foreign examiners, some of whom the UK Polygraph Association has received complaints about. We strongly advise verifying the examiner’s membership in the UK Polygraph Association, which you can do by checking the membership list here.

The Real Cost of Polygraph Test
You have decided to take a lie detector test but a quick search online is confusing and calling suppliers even more so, what should you pay and what should you look for. There is a big difference in charges, we have had clients come to us with quotes for £1000 and then had other clients tell us they have been quoted £185.
The real cost of a lie detector test in the UK is between £399 and £499, anymore or any less something is wrong and you need to investigate why. In this industry we have referral agencies that will charge significantly higher than working direct with a polygraph examiner, always ask to speak to the examiner, we personally review every case on the telephone or via email before ensuring a lie detector test is right for the situation.
If the test is anywhere else in the UK including a home location or we can hire an office close to you, we charge a fixed £499. Lie Detector Test Cost.
Why is a polygraph test so expensive?
There are many factors however, the costs to become a qualified polygraph examiner are expensive and the time and effort required are great, including ongoing training requirements. Then you have the cost of the equipment, which again is expensive and must be kept up to date. A good example here is does the examiner use a Plesmograph (PLE) sensor on your index finger to measure blood flow? This is the second most active channel we score and some examiners have not had the training or purchased the equipment yet. Then you have the advertising cost’s to get the work and finally the office and transport costs to list some of the main expenses.
Therefore, to conclude, you should be looking to pay between £399 and £499 and make sure whoever you, use is fully qualified and experienced and that you know the name of the examiner and have discussed your case with them prior to booking. Lie Detectors UK will never take a booking without speaking with you first to discuss your case.
We charge £399 all-inclusive at our own head office in Maidstone for a single-issue polygraph test. We appreciate you may not be local to our head office so we offer full UK wide coverage and charge £499 to come to you or hire an office close to you, there are no extra costs involved whatsoever all of our pricing is quoted prior to anyone booking and is transparent. When booking we do take a deposit of £150, this guarantees your date and time and is usually non-refundable in the case of a cancellation.
Payment Plans and checklist before hiring
We have been asked a lot do we have a payment plan so the client can spread the cost of the lie detector test, and the answer is no im afraid. However you can pay the deposit and then the remainder on the day so spread out the payments. We do require full payment though before running a lie detector test, imagine if the result isn’t what the clients wants, we may never get paid!
Totally appreciate costs are high however the costs to train, buy new equipment, keep our own offices, put fuel in the car and pay tax is also unfortunately very high.
We also take payment on card should you wish to use a credit card to make payment and spread the cost this way instead of using a payment plan.
